Jamesy is a Nepali rapper from Pokhara who describes his music as trap, with drill elements, built on hard-hitting beats, catchy hooks and storytelling.
Background
Jamesy was drawn to rap through its raw expression and storytelling, with 50 Cent, J Hus and Meekz among his early influences. The Annapurna Express credits him with blending Nepali culture with international styles.
Releases and milestones
His debut “Euro Gang” (2019) did not become an instant hit; “GVNMAN” (2020) made him popular. “Amsterdam” (October 2024) spread quickly and had reached 14 million views at the time of the profile. Between November 2024 and April 2025 he performed at more than 80 events in Nepal and abroad, with sold-out concerts reported in Australia, Dubai, Japan, Hong Kong and the UK. He has spoken of mentoring emerging Nepali artists and possibly starting his own label. The Himalayan Times (27 July 2025) reported more than 85 concerts and events in Nepal and abroad within eight months, a nomination for Best Hip-Hop and R&B Artist at the Radio Kantipur Musical Award, and a Nepal tour followed by a UK date at the Loud Out Festival.
