Background

She was born on 14 January 1990 in Ho Chi Minh City. Her stage name dates from middle school: “Su” was a family nickname and friends added “boi”. She became widely known in 2009 after rapping on Hồ Ngọc Hà’s chart-topping singles “My Apology” and “Girls’ Night”.

Her albums are Walk (2010), Run (2014) and No Nê (2021), with the EP 2.7 in 2017. In 2015 she made her US debut, co-headlining with Awkwafina, and became the first Vietnamese artist officially invited to showcase at South by Southwest. In May 2016 she rapped for President Barack Obama at an event in Ho Chi Minh City. She has been a coach and judge on the TV competition Rap Việt since 2020 and appeared in the documentary Asia Rising: The Next Generation of Hip Hop (2019).
