IKRAAAN (Ikraan Mohamed Haji) is a Flemish singer-songwriter from Brussels. She sings mainly in Dutch and, more recently, in Somali.
Background
VRT NWS reports that she wrote her first real song at the age of 14 and was a finalist of De nieuwe lichting, the talent competition of Studio Brussel, in 2020. Her Somali-language songs “Qorraxdeyda” (“my sun”) and “Carruurnimo” (“childhood”) mark a turn in her work. Earlier claims about her place of birth and early career circulated online without a reliable source, so we have left them out.

Ancienne Belgique describes Geestelijke gezondheidszorg as built on sparse guitar ballads and a dreamy vocal style, with trauma and psychological struggle as its subject. Her own channel says she makes music out of necessity, about obstacles and a bumpy road through life.
