Jessi (Jessica Hyunju Ho) is a New York-born rapper, singer and television presenter based in South Korea, known for “Nunu Nana” and “Zoom”.
Background
She was born on 17 December 1988 in New York City, grew up in New Jersey and moved to Seoul at fifteen. She debuted in 2005 with the single album Get Up, returned in 2014 as part of the trio Lucky J, and finished second on Unpretty Rapstar in 2015.
Releases and milestones
The mini-album Un2verse (2017) included “Gucci”. In 2019 she became the first artist signed to Psy’s label P Nation. In 2020 the EP Nuna produced “Nunu Nana”, which reached No. 2 on the Gaon Digital Chart, and she launched the YouTube talk show Jessi’s Showterview. She won a Golden Disc Award for Best Solo Artist in 2021, “Zoom” went viral on TikTok in 2022, and in 2024 she started her own label, UNNI. Her EP P.M.S. came out in November 2025.
