LEX is a Japanese rapper from Shōnan in Kanagawa Prefecture. KAI-YOU describes him as born in 2002 and known for a mellow voice set against aggressive beats and for emotionally direct lyrics.
Background
KAI-YOU reports that he began after uploading a remix of XXXTentacion’s “Look At Me!” to SoundCloud, and that in 2019 he wrote up to about eight songs a week. Real Sound, writing in January 2020 when he was 17, noted that he raps, makes beats and mixes his own music, and that his live shows had begun to draw attention.

LEX has appeared on releases by JP THE WAVY, KEIJU, KM and LANA, among others. His song with JP THE WAVY, “なんでも言っちゃって”, went viral in August 2021, and KAI-YOU reports that he won the Breakthrough Artist award at GQ JAPAN’s Men of the Year 2021.
