Egertton is a rapper and singer from Edo State, Nigeria, who debuted in late 2024 with the EP KARNAGE and whose self-titled debut mixtape was reviewed by The NATIVE in July 2026.
Background
Egertton comes from Edo State and sings largely in Bini, drawing on Benin heritage. He describes his style as “incantation music”, and The NATIVE places it between alternative pop, rage rap and Edo iconography. The magazine notes co-signs from fellow Benin artists Shallipopi and Cruel Santino.
Releases
His debut EP KARNAGE (late 2024) includes the mosh-pit-minded tracks “RAGE” and “CRAZE”. A collaboration with scottyolorin, “MOLADE”, brought him wider attention. In March 2026 he released “Obokhian”, produced by DJ Primeau, with a video directed by Cruel Santino, followed by the two-track release EGER.
The self-titled mixtape Egertton runs to ten tracks in about 25 minutes. DJ Primeau produced five of them, and the guests include Indi on “MIDNIGHT”. The NATIVE’s reviewer called it imperfect and sprawling but praised his daring.
