TaffyRaps is an Egyptian rapper from Maadi, Cairo, who raps in Arabic and English and is regarded as one of the country’s first independent female rappers and songwriters.
Background
A 2017 Scene Noise profile, written when she was 18, described a New York-influenced delivery, an admiration for Nicki Minaj and an ambition to change Arab rap. Complex MENA later placed her among Egypt’s first independent female rappers and songwriters.
Releases and milestones
Early on she released “Stressin’” featuring CaiRoll, produced by Mubz Beats. “Al Masdar” with Budgy (December 2021), produced by Zelzal, moved towards dancehall-pop, and she appeared on Big Hass’s all-female “Femcee Cypher”. Her EP Bar2 W Ra3d was described by Scene Now as a time of healing, with a PinkPantheress influence and club sounds. Other tracks noted by Complex MENA include “Amara” featuring Abyusif, “Msh Balomhom” and “Malha Di”. “Big Mood” with Bashmohannad followed in June 2026.
Where to start
“Big Mood” is her latest official video; “Al Masdar” shows her pop-leaning side, while Bar2 W Ra3d works as a fuller introduction.
