Background
Yenlik worked as a rural English teacher before turning to music; her early tracks gained attention in 2021. She has compared the improvisation in rap to the Kazakh oral tradition of aytysh. She has collaborated with Shiza (“I Can Believe”, 2022) and others from the Kazakh scene, and Forbes Kazakhstan has written about the producers shaping her new sound.
